the pillRepeat Prescriptions

Repeat prescriptions may be issued for regular medication as arranged by your doctor.

In order to provide a safe and accurate service we would request that orders for repeat prescriptions are made in person at the prescription desk, or by leaving your repeat prescription request slip in the prescription box in reception, or by post enclosing a stamped addressed envelope , or fax to 0844 477 3354 , or via this website.

Only if these methods are not possible, eg for housebound patients, then requests for repeat prescriptions may be made by telephone to 0844 477 3352 between 11.00am to 4.00pm . Prescription requests by telephone will only be dealt with at this number as our prescriptions are computerised and it is necessary for our staff to check the computer records when you request a prescription.

Please avoid telephoning on Mondays for routine prescriptions as the telephone lines are extremely busy.

Please note that we require 48 hours to process your request for repeat medication whether it is ordered in person, by leaving your request slip, online, by post, by fax or by telephone.

Please plan ahead when ordering your prescription so that you do not run out of your medication.

If you have your prescription dispensed by a regular pharmacist, the pharmacist may be able to collect your prescription on your behalf. Please ask our receptionist for details.

Repeat Dispensing Scheme

Some patients who are receiving regular repeat medication may benefit from using the Repeat Dispensing Scheme. This scheme enables the doctor to arrange for the pharmacy to dispense your medication directly at regular intervals, thereby reducing the number of times you need to contact the surgery to order your repeat prescription. Please ask at reception for details.

Non-Repeat Medication (Acute Precsriptions)

Requests for non-repeat medication for minor ailments will be passed to the duty doctor for attention. Please phone the prescription number 0844 477 3352 between 11.00am to 4.00pm to request an acute prescription for minor illness. The receptionist is required to take some details which will be forwarded to the doctor.
